Ofsted: St Mary’s and St Peter’s Catholic Primary School is an oasis at the heart of the community. Pupils are happy. They thrive in this inclusive and nurturing environment. The early years are referred to as ‘the secret garden of success’.

Our School of Sanctuary pledge:

At St Mary's and St Peter's, we support the ‘City of Sanctuary’ vision that the UK will be a welcoming place of safety for all and proud to offer sanctuary to people fleeing violence and persecution. We endorse the City of Sanctuary Charter, and agree to act in accordance with City of Sanctuary values and apply the network principles within our work. We recognise the contribution of people seeking sanctuary in our community. Sanctuary seekers are welcomed, included and supported within our school.

Welcome to our school

Hello and welcome to St Mary's and St Peter's school website.

On this website we hope you will find everything you want and some extras. On here there are activities for the children to do and a chance for the adults to find out all about what we are doing in our school.

Our school prides itself on being an exciting and fun place for the children to come and learn.

School Mission

God is at the centre of everything we do.

We look after everyone and celebrate how special we all are. Together we encourage children to be anything that they dream to be.

Our school is full of different people who follow God's path fairly, lovingly and put the needs of others first.

"I have come so that they may have life, and have it to the full" - (John 10.10)

Our School Ethos

At St Mary’s and St Peter’s we provide a welcoming, safe and happy school where everyone is respected and listened to. Our ambitious curriculum is designed to develop a love of learning and to deliver the best possible outcomes for all pupils; it is underpinned by 3 drivers: healthy lifestyles, experiences and aspirations.

We aim to provide our pupils with the lifelong learning skills that will enable them to succeed in the next stage of their education and into adulthood.

Above all we want our children to aspire to achieve as highly as possible in their adult life and to believe that anything is possible. We aim to provide a range of opportunities to nurture develop and stretch children’s interests such as music lessons in school, educational visits, after school clubs and work in our local community.
